Description
You will learn how to design, implement, and operate modern energy systems based on solar, wind, water, and biomass resources. You will master the principles of heat pumps, photovoltaic systems, and Building Management Systems (BMS), combining knowledge of energy-efficient construction with advanced environmental engineering. You will also gain practical skills in using engineering software for simulating energy conversion processes and designing sanitary installations.
During your studies:
- you will learn to design photovoltaic systems, solar heating installations, as well as small wind and hydropower plants,
- you will gain knowledge of geothermal and biogas technologies, as well as modern biomass combustion and co-combustion methods,
- you will master the selection and installation of heat pumps, including the design of ground heat exchangers,
- you will prepare for designing sanitary, heating, and air-conditioning systems controlled by modern automation technologies,
- you will learn to perform energy balances, energy audits, and energy performance assessments for passive and active buildings,
- you will become familiar with Building Management Systems (BMS) and methods of thermal and electrical energy storage,
- you will learn to prepare technical documentation, cost estimates, and environmental impact assessments for renewable energy installations,
- you will prepare to apply for professional building licences in the sanitary engineering specialization (unlimited execution licence and limited design licence).
Internships:
- professional internship – 4 weeks in total.
Selected courses:
Fundamentals of Renewable Energy Systems, Building Construction and Building Physics, Heat Pump Installations, Wind and Hydropower Engineering, Photovoltaic Systems, Biomass Boiler Plants, Sanitary Networks and Installations, Automation and Building Management Systems (BMS).
Career opportunities:
After graduation, you may pursue a career as a:
- Renewable Energy Systems Designer – preparing designs for photovoltaic farms, solar installations, and heat pump systems in engineering design offices,
- Construction Engineer / Installation Engineer – supervising the installation and commissioning of renewable energy systems in contracting companies,
- Energy Efficiency Specialist – conducting energy audits and implementing passive building technologies,
- Public Administration Expert – working in local government institutions on strategies for implementing green energy and protecting air quality,
- Environmental Technology Consultant – advising investors on optimal biomass, biogas, and geothermal energy solutions,
- Research Institution Specialist – promoting and developing advanced energy technologies.
