You will master the principles of electricity generation, transmission and distribution, including the use of renewable energy sources (RES) and high-voltage technologies. The programme prepares you to implement innovative solutions in power electronics, electric drives and industrial automation based on advanced mathematical modelling and computer simulations.

During your studies you will:

  • learn to design modern electrical installations and protection systems for power engineering,
  • prepare to work with advanced CAD systems used in the design of mechatronic and electrical systems,
  • master the construction and programming of microprocessor systems and industrial PLC controllers,
  • gain knowledge of power system management and power supply reliability,
  • learn to model and simulate dynamic systems and analyse phenomena in electromagnetic fields,
  • become familiar with modern lighting technologies and illumination solutions as well as methods of designing intelligent lighting systems,
  • acquire practical skills in the construction and control of electric drives and robots,
  • prepare to perform precise measurements of electrical quantities and analyse the obtained results.

Practical training:

  • professional internship (4 weeks in total)

Selected courses:

Circuit Theory, Power Engineering, Power Electronics, Electrical Machines, High Voltage Engineering, Fundamentals of Automation, Electric Drives, Power Networks and Protection Systems, Microprocessor Technology, Lighting Engineering.

Career opportunities:

After completing this programme, you will be eligible to apply for professional construction licences authorising the design and supervision of construction works involving electrical and power engineering networks, installations and equipment.

After graduation, you may pursue a career as:

  • Electrical Engineer / Network Designer – designing power transmission infrastructure and electrical installations for industrial and residential buildings,
  • Automation and Control Systems Specialist – implementing machine and industrial process control systems,
  • Maintenance Engineer – supervising the operation of electrical equipment, machinery and systems in manufacturing plants,
