Description

You will learn how to identify and eliminate hazards in the workplace, industry and public spaces. You will master the principles of designing safety systems, conducting technical risk analysis and monitoring processes using modern measurement and control equipment. You will acquire unique knowledge in materials engineering, armament technology or forensic science while using professional engineering software and hazard databases.

During your studies you will:

  • learn to perform comprehensive risk analyses using quantitative and qualitative methods,
  • prepare to design and operate safety systems for machinery, equipment and industrial installations,
  • master techniques for detecting and identifying hazardous materials (chemical, radiological and pyrotechnic),
  • gain knowledge of ballistics, firearms and ammunition design, as well as modern cryptographic methods,
  • learn to secure forensic evidence and carry out investigative procedures at incident scenes,
  • become familiar with the principles of Industry 4.0 and the protection of classified information in uniformed services,
  • learn to determine hazard zones in the event of transport disasters and industrial accidents,
  • prepare to manage crisis situations and organise safe logistics and transport processes (ADR).

Practical training:

  • professional internship (4 weeks in total)

 

Selected courses:

The curriculum includes, among others: Risk Analysis, Environmental Hazards, Firearms and Ammunition Design, Forensic Evidence and Methods of Evidence Collection, Security Threat Monitoring, Ballistics, Fingerprint Identification and Trace Evidence Analysis, Safety of Transmission Systems and Installations, Technical and Medical Rescue.


Career opportunities:

After graduation, you may pursue a career as:

  • Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Specialist / Inspector – managing workplace safety and preparing safety procedures in industrial plants,
  • Safety Engineer in Uniformed Services – working with the Police, the Polish Armed Forces or the State Fire Service in risk analysis and logistics,
  • Forensic and Ballistics Expert – working in research laboratories specialising in toolmark examination and firearms analysis,
  • Engineer in the Defence Industry – designing, manufacturing and ensuring the safe operation of weapons and ammunition,
  • ADR Logistics and Transport Specialist – supervising the safe transport of hazardous goods and internal transport systems,
  • Public Facility Security Coordinator – designing active and passive protection systems for public buildings.

Required Documents:

  1. secondary school certificate containing a transcript of marks – in the original language and sworn translation into English or Polish
  2. Legalization/Apostille of the originally issued diploma and transcript of marks
  3. valid passport (pages with photo and personal data)
  4. visa (if required and obtained)
  5. language confirmation (not necessary for citizens of English-speaking countries). More info here

Fees:

  • Tuition fee for course in English = €1200 per semester
  • Tuition fee for course in Polish = €600 per semester
  • Application fee = €24 (€20 if the math exam is not required)
  • Application fee for Architecture = €35
